1.  Senator Mike Machado was introduced and spoke.

V. Approval of Minutes

1.  Minutes of the September meeting.  Motion by Doug Ridenour to approve.  Second by Joe Schmidt.  Motion carried.

VI. Treasurer's report

1. Paul Brown presented report, Valley Chapter account balances: General acct - $17,455.62, PAC Acct - $39,689.97.  Motion to accept report by Beintema, 2nd Joe Schmidt, motion carried

VII. Old Business

1.  Jim Ridenour’s endorsement for Mayor of Modesto was brought back to the floor.  No opposition was noted since the endorsement was carried at the September 2003 meeting.  Motion stands.
- Mark Smith made a motion to donate $1,000 to Ridenour’s campaign.  Second by Chris T. of
Stockton POA.  Motion carried.

IX. Reports

A. PAC

Randy discussed SB53 which is the 100% cap for PERS.  It has been rolled to a 2 year bill.  Also discussed was AB1151 which is a 5 year of service purchase option for 1937 Act counties.  It passed and is law, however, Board of Supervisor’s must sign on to get the benefit. 

B. Insurance and Benefits

1.  Paul Harrison discussed the PORAC long term care plan and passed out a handout.

1.  Various discussions of current and pending cases.

E. Association reports

1.  PORAC Conference will be at Indian Wells on November 20 through 23.
