Motion by Beintema, Second by Ramos to accept, motion carried

VII. Old Business

Elections: Candidates for Office were as follows:
President - Doug Ridenour
Vice-President - Dave Souza
Secretary - Mark Smith
Treasurer - Paul Brown

Motion was made by Randy Beintema to have the election by acclimation as there was only one candidate for each office, Second was made by Greg Simpson, the motion carried.

Conference - San Joaquin DAI asked for funds to assist them in sending representative to the conference. Motion by Beintema to give them $745 to send one person, Seconded by Schlenker, motion carried.

A point was made of the Rick Barratta award being available to each chapter for financial assistance

Motion to endorse Dave Cogdill for 25th Assembly was made by Andy Schlenker, Second by Beteima, motion carried

Motion to give Dave Cogdill $1000 made by Schlenker, second by Beintema, motion carried

VIII. New Business

Motion to endorse Eric Ulis 5th Assembly District made by Pete Provencal, Second by Beintema, motion carried

Motion to give Eric Uli $500 by Pete Provencal, Second by Schlenker, motion carried

Stockton Police Officers presented their opposition to a local Measure "Z' which would result in a loss of 124 positions in their department, 75 of which would be sworn.

Motion to oppose measure 'Z' made by Schlenker, second by Paul Brown.

Motion to give $1500 to oppose measure 'Z made by John Beard, Second by Joe Scmidt, motion carried

IX. Executive Director's Report

Clancy Faria talked about fund raiser in Angels Camp for Dave Cogdill on 10/23/02. Cost is $4000 for golf tournament, offered to split cost of a foursome with Valley Chapter.

Motion by Beintema to do so, second by Schlenker, cost $2000 to Valley Chapter to support Cogdill.

Clancy Faria talked about legislation, Governor vetoed DROP bill, will try again in new session to get it through.

XII. LDF

Andy Schlenker talked about the Ford Crown Victoria problem, Ford Motor is starting to settle some of the litigation and correct the vehicles.

LDF is currently defending a DAI who is facing 15 - life due to a 187 PC charge from an AG's Office investigation

In Southern California Brady issues continue to arise which LDF is dealing with

Chris Miller from Mastagni's Office talked about a case he worked on where it was made clear Agencies should destroy records of officer discipline after five years or they may become discoverable

Stockton POA - Measure Z would result in $25 million cut to city budget

Retirees asked if anyone is aware of off-duty use of weapon by a retiree known to bring it forward to assist in legislation

Paul Heckman - introduced himself, candidate for PORAC VP

Modesto PD SGT. Steve May who was injured in a crash has not had any improvements in his condition
