P.O.R.A.C. Valley Chapter

Call to Order: President Dave Souza

 

Attendance:  President Dave Souza, Vice President Andy Schlenker, Treasurer Paul Brown, Director Randy Beintema, and Association representatives present at P.O.R.A.C. conference.  Secretary Mark Smith, absent.

 

New Business:

 

Item #1

Amendment from conference floor regarding language change to P.O.R.A.C. By-Law #6, Section 1C, as well as Chapter stance on change.

 

Discussion: After discussing the topic it was determined a unanimous consensus could not be reached for a Chapter position. Association vote will be necessary, and if required taken on conference floor.

 

Item #2

Endorsement for Steven Gevercer for Sacramento County Superior Court Judge.

 

Discussion: Dave Topaz requsted endorsement for Steven Gevercer, Sac. Co. Superior Court Judge. No noted opposition from affected associations.

            Motioned by:  Dave Topaz

            Second by: Andy Schlenker

            Unanimously passed.

 

Item #3

Treasurers Report, Treasurer Paul Brown.

            See Attached.

 

Item #4

Endorsement for Vern Gladny, Oakdale City Council, as well as $500.00 donation.

 

Discussion: Tom Dunlop requested endorsement and donation to Vern Gladny, Oakdale City Council.  No noted opposition from affected associations.

Second by:  Dave Reeder, Stockton P.O.A.

Unanimously passed.

 

 

 

Item #5

Valley Chapter meal payments

Discussion: Dave Souza requested continued payment for meals for those attending Valley Chapter meetings.

Motioned by:  Tracy Busby, Calaveras D.S.A.

Second by: Gordan Gray, Stockton P.O.A.

Unanimously passed.

 

Item #6

P.O.R.A.C. membership in N.A.P.O.

Discussion: Various points of view were discussed, and motion was made to oppose P.O.R.A.C. membership.

            Motioned by: Dave Reeder, Stockton P.O.A.

            Second by: Josh Tindall, Placer Co. D.S.A.

            Accepted by voice vote

 

P.A.C. Report

Randy Beintema requested funding for Senator Mike Machado.

 

            Discussion: Opposition expressed by Stockton P.O.A. and Yolo D.S.A.

            Funding will be requested through P.O.R.A.C. P.A.C.

 

Elections:

Dave Souza advised no new officers to Valley Chapter.

 

Old Business:

Gordan Gray, Stockton P.O.A., offered appreciation and thanks to the P.A.C. for support on Measure W.

 

Ilsa VonLeden, Yolo D.S.A. offered appreciation and thanks to the P.A.C. for support and endorsement of Woodland City Councilman

 

Miscellaneous Business:

Randy Beintema urged attendance at conference meetings and classes.

 

Andy Schlenker requested host associations for the 2005 calendar year Valley Chapter meetings.
