Valley Chapter PORAC
Indian Wells (PORAC Annual Conference)
1. Meeting was called
to order by President Dave Souza at 1730 hours.
2. All of the board
was present but roll-call was not taken. This
was a short meeting so the normal formalities were not followed.
New
Business
1. Dave Souza
requested a motion for $1,000 for a fund raiser golf tournament for Assemblyman
Dave Cogdill. Andy Schlenker made
such a motion. Paul Brown seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
2. A motion was made
by Paul Brown for the Valley Chapter to take a position of non-support on
proposed by-law amendment #3 dealing with the Fiscal Committee.
Motion was seconded by Dave from Stockton POA.
The motion did not carry. There
is no Valley Chapter position on #3. (Note-This
by-law was amended at the general session on 11-22-03 and Valley Chapter went
along with Region II in support of the amendment as amended.)
3. A motion was made
by Randy Beintema for Valley Chapter to oppose by-law amendment #1 dealing with
Nevada Chapter and LDF. The motion
was seconded by Steve Walker. The
motion carried. The Valley Chapter
opposed by-law amendment #1.
4. A motion was made
by Mark Smith to continue the funding of member meals at Valley Chapter Meetings
for the next year ending with the October 2004 meeting.
The motion was for the Chapter to pay only for “regular” Valley
Chapter members only. Seconded
by Beintema. Motion carried.
