Meeting Minutes of November 22, 2002, held at PORAC Conf in Monterey

Detailed attendance was not taken as this was a joint meeting with Region II
The Region II meeting was called to order by Randy Beintema at 1630 hours.
1. Paul Heckman, Candidate for PORAC Vice President, addressed the meeting and requested support.
2. During a break in the candidate speeches by-law amendments were voted on.
Ron Dryer made a motion that Region II support all four proposed by-law
amendments.
Motion was seconded by Paul Brown.
Voice vote was unanimous for region II to support all four amendments.
3. Kip Ringen, Candidate for PORAC Vice President, addressed the meeting and requested support.
4. Mike Ervin, Candidate for PORAC President address the meeting and requested support.
5. Clancy Faria, Candidate for PORAC President addressed the meeting and requested support.
6. A motion was made by Paul Brown for Region II to support Paul Heckman for Vice President. The motion was seconded by Ron Dryer. The vote was not unanimous so no Region position was taken on Vice President.
7. A motion was made by Mark Cardoza for Region II to support Clancy Faria for President. The motion was seconded by Ron Dryer. The vote was not unanimous so no Region position was taken on President.
The Region II meeting was adjourned at 1750 hours.

The Valley Chapter Meeting was called to order at 1755 by President Ridenour.
1. Dan Hilgen made a motion for the Valley Chapter to support Clancy Faria for President. Motion seconded by Kevin Bertalotto. The vote was not unanimous to no Valley Chapter position was taken on President.
2. Peter Provincial made a motion for the Valley Chapter to support Paul Heckman for Vice President. Motion was seconded by James Hood. The motion carried and all of Valley Chapter’s votes will go to Paul Heckman for Vice President.
3. Paul Konsdorf relayed a request from Sonora PD who were asking for PORAC’s endorsement of legislation to allow Sonora to have a vote on a quarter percent utility tax. Apparently they need special legislation before putting the measure on the ballot. A motion was made by Mark Frink to endorse this legislation. Second by Dan Hilgen, motion carried.
4. Dan Hilgen addressed the meeting and spoke of the Central Valley Medical Trust that was started by the Stanislaus DSA. He invited other associations to participate.
