A. PAC/OGA:
Randy Beintema reported on numerous issues relating to PORAC. Discussed upcoming political races. Requested that you get your nominations in early, especially for State offices and with the new redistricting different chapters will now cover different districts. Spoke of police memorial week 1st week in May. POST is trying to change the requirements for Advanced and Intermediate certificates. PORAC Labor symposium June 3, 4, & 5 at the Silver Legacy in Reno.
B. Insurance & Benefits:
Dave French reported that the CLEA suit against PORAC was dismissed. Also discussed cost of medical benefits after retirement. Non-medicare Kaiser premiums are $1065 for a person over 65.
C. LDF:
New plan documents are out with the new rates. You should get them shortly.
D. Service Providers:
Mastagni Jr; discussed the dismissal of the CLEA suit against PORAC
OE3; Beltran talked of contracts that they are working on.
Goyette; firm hired Paul Konsdorf. Modesto POA and Stanislaus DSA now using Goyette & Assoc.
Messing; Jim Tomaino, former San Jose POA President now working with CB&M.
E. Association Reports:
San Joaquin DSA is in negotiations.
Phil Jordan reported that there will be a RPOAC board meeting on April 12.
Oakdale POA is starting negotiations, looking at 3% at 50.
