VI. Treasurer's report

1. Paul Brown presented report, Valley Chapter account balances: General acct - $16,467.32, PAC Acct - $35,489.31.  Motion to accept report by Beintema, 2nd Dennis Lewis, motion carried

VII. Old Business

1.  The Valley Chapter cell phone was purchased.  The phone number is 209-607-0708.  The number will be posted on the web site.  The phone has voice mail so messages can be left for the chapter.  The phone will remain in the possession of Dave Souza.

IX. Reports

A. PAC

Randy  discussed the State budget concerns.  VLF issues. Cal-Mett funding in jeapardy.  High-Tech money is gone.  Reminded of November Conference in Indian Wells.

B. Insurance and Benefits

Dave French discussed PERS medical rates going up 20% to 25%.  Discussed the impact of 3% at 50 on PERS.

C. LDF

Andy Schlenker; new rates are out this month.  The Oakland Riders case is out to the jury.  Ford crown vic lawsuits still pending.

D. Service Provider's Reports

Several discussed current cases and labor concerns.

E. Association reports

Sac POA discussed Chief Venagas running for Assembly.  Annouced their "Anybody but Venagas" Campaign.

F. Good of the Association

1.  PORAC Conference will be at Indian Wells on November 20 through 23.

1.  Oakdale in August, Modesto in September.
