VI. Treasurer's report

1. Paul Brown presented report, Valley Chapter account balances: General acct - $19,090.00, PAC Acct - $39,531.80.  Motion to accept report by Beintema, 2nd Mark Smith, motion carried

VIII. New Business

1.  PORAC Conference was discussed.  Any association who wishes to ask for financial assistance should do so in writing at the September meeting.

2.  During the PAC report, Beintema made a motion to pay for hotel, registration, and spouse costs for JIm Jorgenson and Jake Jackson to attend the PORAC Conf.  Both are from the Valley Chapter and are former PORAC Presidents.  Motion seconded by Ridenour.  Motion carried.   Note:  Travel costs were not included in the motion.

IX. Reports

A. PAC

Randy  discussed the PORAC Conf.  Mike Cavelerro and Ron Cottingham are running for President.  One one candidate for each of the other offices.
Randy discussed new controls on the elections.  Proxy rules are more strict.
Randy discussed pending legislation and state budget concerns.  SB 440 will correct errors in SB 402.  SB 100 to increase PERS cap to 100%.

B. Insurance and Benefits

Dave French: Discussed PERS medical issues.  Discussed CHP taking a 5% pay cut to avoid layoffs.

C. LDF

Schlenker discussed allowing Colorado agencies to join LDF.  LDF has 51,000 members.  Discussed one Riverside Cop getting his job back over the Tyiasha Miller case.  Discussed the Ford Crown Vic exploding problem; 2005 Crown vics to have fire suppression system.

D. Service Provider's Reports

Mastagni discussed issue involving invoking Miranda after critical incidents.

E. Association reports

X. Good of the Association

1.  PORAC Conference will be at Indian Wells on November 20 through 23.

XI. Next meeting

1.  Modesto, September 11th, this will also be the Region II meeting.
