I. Called to Order

1. Lois Wolk, Yolo County Board of Supervisors, Candidate for the 8th Assembly District
Spoke and requested the endorsement of PORAC. No action was taken as Yolo DSA must contact other associations in the 8th District.
V. Approval of Minutes
1. Motion to accept minutes by Sanchez, 2nd by Schlenker, Motion carried.
VI. Treasurer's Report
1. Andy Schlenker reported that we have $13,335.99 in our general account and $24,837.68 in our PAC account.
2. Motion to accept treasurers report by Sanchez, second by Smith, motion carried.
VII. Old Business
1. None.
VIII. New Business
1. Ridenour spoke about the Rick Baratta Award. This award would help send a rep from smaller associations to the conference.
2. Ridenour spoke about Randy Beintema's recent promotion to sergeant. Commented on how Randy always gives everybody that gets promoted a hard time so now it's his turn.
IX. Reports
A. PAC/OGA:
1. PORAC endorsed Gov. Davis for re-election.
2. PORAC endorsed Bob Jarvis for Public Employment Relations Board.
3. PORAC hired a new general manager, a retired Air Force Colonel.
4. SB 90 the 90% retirement cap and the PERS DROP bills are still moving through
the system.
B. Insurance & Benefits
1. None
C. LDF:
1. Andy Schlenker discussed some proposed by-law amendments that will come up at conference for LDF regarding the Border Patrol. They want to eliminate the requirement for the one Border Patrol local that is located in California to have to become limited PORAC members. Other Border Patrol locals that aren't located in California aren't required to become limited PORAC members.
D. Service Providers:
1. None
E. Association Reports:
1. RPOAC will have annual meeting at conference.
2. Sacramento POA settled their contract and they are happy with what they got.
3. Yolo DSA reported that they got a 12.5% raise even though their contract wasn't
up. The BOS reopened just to give them a raise because the BOS thought it was the
right thing to do.
4. Ridenour spoke of a 14 year old boy that was killed when he road his skateboard
against across an intersection against a red light and was stuck by a Modesto patrol
car. The boys mother couldn't afford funeral expenses so a collection was taken up
and local associations donated several thousand dollars. Schlenker made a motion
for Valley Chapter to donate $250 to the Chris Griffin Memorial Fund. This was
seconded by Smith. Motion carried.
